Toasting The Pilcrow’s discount card for its loyal locals

8 February 2017 by Neil Sowerby

GOOD to see Manchester’s only artisan hand-crafted hostelry, The Pilcrow, fulfilling its remit to become a community pub. The NOMA-based craft beer mecca has introduced a free to sign up for ‘Locals Card’, which allows you 10 per cent off all drinks, at all times.

That certainly makes the beer list more accessible. Top-end ales such as the DIPAs from our own Cloudwater (named recently world’s fifth best brewery in the influential Rate Beer Awards) fetch a premium price.

The Pilcrow is operated jointly by Cloudwater’s Paul Jones and Jonny Heyes, founder of Common, Beagle, IndyManBeerCon and the Port Street Beer House. The latter also triumphed in the Rate Beer lists as one of the UK’s best beer bars, while the Marble Arch, tap for Marble beers, is one of the top brewpubs and the Northern Quarter’s Beermoth is best bottle shop in Manchester.

The Pilcrow Pub, Sadlers Yard, Hanover Street, Manchester M60 0AB. Mon-Thu noon-10.30pm, Fri & Sat noon-11.30pm, Sun noon-8pm. For details of weekend street food schedule and to sign up for the Locals card visit this link
