TURTLE BAY TO OPEN SECOND MANCHESTER RESTAURANT – IN THE NORTHERN QUARTER

4 March 2015

TURTLE Bay have been bringing rum, reggae, jerk and good times to Manchester since opening in Oxford Street last May. Now, as first birthday here approaches, they’re celebrating by opening a second outlet in Oldham Street on June 6.

Taste of Manchester remembers fondly the first launch bash (pictured), which paired authentic Caribbean food with lashings of rum and Red Stripe to set the party-loving agenda. Expect more of the same in the new 120 cover venue in the old Ryan Vintage site.

While the menu will boast old favourites such as jerk chicken and goat curry the interior of is set to be different to Oxford Street with £1m being spent on the fit-out.

Turtle Bay founder Ajith Jayawickrema says: "Our second restaurant is testament to how much we love Manchester! We're delighted that people seem to really 'get' Turtle Bay here. The Northern Quarter is such an exciting community to be part of – we can't wait to bring Caribbean good times to that side of town."
