ALLOTMENT Stockport is fine dining vegan heaven. ToM gave it five stars and ever since has had the urge to return to Matthew Nutter’s groundbreaking restaurant.
Now the Ancoats Supper Club is saving us a journey by hosting a £35 a head Allotment Taster Menu on Friday, March 31 at its usual venue, Ancoats Coffee Co in Royal Mills.
It kicks off with a soup of organic roasted celeriac and crispy capers, followed by wild mushroom parfait, pear and pickle salad and before a couple of desserts a stunning sounding main of roast plum and tamari-fried shiitake mushroom, rice wine pickled courgette, crispy kale, charred leek and black sesame, finished with crispy nori.
At £35 a head with BYOB corkage included it sounds a real bargain for some groundbreaking cooking.
