AL Fresco might be Matty White’s middle name. The sunshine took our videomeister down to WOOD on First Street to check out its new Summer Bar and Terrace men – a more chilled out version of the fine dining experience ToM enjoyed recently.
Matty’s light-hearted Match of the Day style video seems to summer up summer on First Street before the dark clouds of a penalty shoot-out briefly threatened to blot out the sun.
Dishes on the new menu include a flat iron steak with purple potato salad and marrow butter; belly pork with cider, granny smith apples sage & onion; mackerel with beetroot, goats curd & watercress; and wild mushroom raviolo with sage, chestnut and pangrattato. Main dishes are around £10 each, with a selection of lighter options including woodland salad, jersey royal baby jackets, or pork belly bites from £4.
Or you could order WOOD’s new cheeseboard selection to include five cheeses, chutney, WOOD is also celebrating the return of the Shack, positioned outside the restaurant. It will be open whenever the sun shines and will serve a range of drinks and snacks outside on the terrace.
