VERMILION, the glamorous Thai/ Indian restaurant in North East Manchester is launching a unique collaboration by hosting a series of one-off guest nights featuring the finest Asia street food and supper club operators around.
First up in the Guestraunt Vermilion Street Food series are Viet Shack on Thursday, February 19, for a special night celebrating Chinese New Year Week. Arndale-based Nelson Lam describes his food offering as updated Vietnamese dishes “inspired by mama’s good home cooking”. It won Viet Shack the Cheap Eats prize in the 2014 Manchester Food and Drink Awards@vietshack
On Tuesday, April 7, Salford-based street food whizzes Nasi Lemak (@NasiLemakM14) will serve Malay and Chinese street dishes inspired by their hometown Penang – plus a host of other guests in the pipeline.
Dim Sum Su are on the menu for Wednesday, May 6, offering artisan dim sum and spring rolls made by Sue Lee from recipes handed down from her family in Hong Kong. @DimSumSU
On Wednesday, June 3, it’s the turn of The Hungry Gecko, featuring Jackie Kearney (pictured), finalist in BBC One's MasterChef 2011 and runner-up for Best Main Dish at British Street Food Awards in 2012. Her food passion lies with world street food, and vegan and vegetarian dining. As a street food pioneer in the UK, Jackie has travelled up and down the country with her iconic trailer, Barbarella, serving up gourmet world street food.
