VOTES ARE COUNTED - SIX OF THE BEST FROM NICO

6 January 2020

NICO’s greatest hits? We’re not talking about the Velvet Underground femme fatale who fetched up in Manchester during the Eighties. No this is from another incomer – Scottish Italian chef Nico Simeone, whose affordable themed tasting menus have been hugely popular up in Spring Gardens. Now he’s come up with a ‘Best of’.

The Six By Nico brand’s first six week six-course offering was a homage to the chippy tea (a passion hared between our city and his native Glasgow). The ‘difficult second album’ was New York-inspired, then came our favourite, his interpretation of Mexican cuisine, and finally in the run-up to Christmas, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

A key to the success of this production line is customer loyalty. Hence fans got to vote online for fave dishes to compile this latest offering, running from Tuesday, January 7 to Sunday, February 16.

The votes have now been counted and ‘Best of 2019’ features dishes from other sites such as Bombas and Butternut Spring Roll – from Catalonia and Thai dinners we have yet to experience. Reassurance that he’s not just running out of global inspiration.

Six By Nico, 60 Spring Gardens, Manchester M2 2BQ. Open from midday, Tuesday through to Sunday, each six-course menu is available from noon to night. To make a reservation visit this link. The latest menu costs £29 per person with an additional £26 for a drinks pairing.
