Welcome to Big cheese part 2 at New Market Dairy, Altrincham

26 November 2019 by Neil Sowerby

QUALITY cheese. Crumbs. It’s not as easy to find as you might think. Hence ToM’s enthusiasm for New Market Dairy, injecting Altrincham’s foodie scene with some serious curds.

What’s more, they are not just selling Dairy owner Martin Gott’s own acclaimed St James and a range of British artisan cheeses they are also putting on monthly tasting events in collaboration with ToM faves Reserve Wines.

We attended the inaugural cheese and wine pairing dinner in New Market Square and this second one promises to be even more creamily mind-blowing. It runs from 6.30pm on Saturday, November 30. One tip dress up warm – this is a communal outdoor feast.

During the evening guests will be able to explore five carefully chosen unusual and exquisite artisan made farmhouse cheeses from across the British Isles, all expertly paired with organic and bio-dynamic wines selected by Nic Rezzouk from Reserve.

Cumbria-based Martin has taken a great deal of care in selecting the evening’s cheeses, with his choices based on provenance, real depth of flavour, amazing texture and great taste.

Accompanying all this is a selection of artisan breads from award-winning Alty neighbours Lovingly Artisan along withs amuse bouche and desserts from Little Orange Co. Tickets are priced at £35 a head and must be booked in advance through Eventbrite.

Note that many of the cheeses served by New Market Dairy are not suitable for vegetarians and are made with raw milk. As alcohol is served, all attendees must be over 18.
