Almost Famous is a DIY bar patched together with plywood furniture and simply aluminium chairing - leaving you to focus on the burgers. Rare, juicy, dripping, meaty patties are combined with demi-brioche, melting yellow cheese, lashings of caramelised onions, and rich sauces. And they've captured the city's imagination as the queues winding out the door on a nightly basis prove. Ingredients vary slightly but whether you go for the DD Burger or Triple Nom burger with BBQ and bonnet chilli infused Bang Bang Island Sauce, these are the best take on the trend in town. Prices start at around £6.50 with side orders like Trailer Trash fries slathered in cheese and chilli clocking in at £3-4. We recommend ordering these to share rather than per person. Inspired by London’s famous Meat Liquor burger bar (fans will notice many parallels including the fact that drinks, such as the vodka-led house cocktail, Bitch Juice, are served in jam jars), there are no bookings available.
