CAMRA's national pub of the year in 2013 continues to pull in discerning punters to its historic site, next door to the Co-Op Museum on Toad Lane, The Baum opened its doors in the early 1980s. Owner, Simon Crompton worked there for many years, eventually taking over as in 2005. Regular ales on draught include selections from the Pictish and Phoenix breweries as well as a huge range of bottles, with an emphasis on Belgium. Food includes soups, pates, potato skins, chips, salads and baked potatoes.
