Located in the fizz, crack and pop of the Northern Quarter, Common is one of the original Northern Quarter bars, but after a decade it needed a revamp and it got it big time with art and design central to the new look. That means custom pieces commissioned from ceramicist Joe Hartley – hand-crafted lampshades, pump handles and a coffee tamper that form a physical part of the new Common alongside furniture designs from Pete Masters. The reopened bar haaearlier opening times an extended square footage with 30 additional covers, making more time and room for a new all day food menu and next level coffee. Only the best DJs get slots here; Will Tramp, Krystal Klear (Rinse FM) and Éclair FiFi (LuckyMe) are regulars. See Top 10 Best Burgers for more about the offering in the food department. Beers and blends are drawn from the likes of Brooklyn Brewery or Germans respected lager houses, and there are plenty of local ales on offer too, handpicked by the team behind the award-winning Port Street Beer House. Coffee is excellent too. Open until around 2am at weekends. A door charge may apply after 11pm.
