Brought to you by famous DJ duo, The Unabombers, and winner of Best Bar in the MFDF Awards 2010, this Chorlton bar and pub is a favourite of south Manchester residents with its own brew real ales, hearty stews and cool entertainment in the form of vintage fairs, cakes sales and Sunday’s one-deck DJ sessions from talent such as Andrew Weatherall. With chef Kim Merritt behind the pass every Sunday, it’s also one of the city’s most promising spots for a contemporary roast. Served on a large sharing board, tuck into a smorgasbord of carrots, roasties and house-made gravy, with chicken roast alongside roast beef and pork as part of the Electrik Roast for four (£46) or go out on your own with roasted loin of Gloucester Old Spot and all the trimmings for £11.50. Kids roasts are £6, salted pork crackling is £2. Ideal with a choice from the wine list curated by wine merchant, Hanging Ditch, or a pint of the Happy Valley and Electrik co-produced special ales and porters.
