The Fruiterer? That was Mr Charles who sold exotic fruits on the site after emigrating from Armenia back in 1890 (it was later the Wellington Food store). No it is a quirkily pubby bar run by manager Ben Brown, once of Chorlton's The Parlour The fruit these days comes from the hop – there's a splendid range on draught and in bottle, adding an extra stop-off along the impressive Burton Road 'bar mile'. Expect the likes of Brightside RedWillow and Tweed on the pumps.Food is described as modern European with Asian influences. The project is co-owned by ex Manchester City star Michael Johnson and David Vanderhook of Lime Bar, Salford Quays,
