Home-made pickled eggs and Holt’s of Tetley’s Bitter at an unreconstituted Shudehuill boozer, dating back to the 1700s. Once a journos’ haunt when the Printworks did just that rather than host hen parties, this three-roomed pub has survived architecturally intact with a plethora of green tiles outside and in just part of the period detail. The pub still has the separate lounge and bar with a spectacular tiled hallway and bar with stained glass sections. The couch seating still has the bar bells above the head-rests. Darts, quiz, karaoke add to the splendid mix.
