THE Heaton Moor Producers' Market runs the first Sunday of every month 11am-3pm (except January) in Shaw Road. The traders’ list is an ever mutating smorgasbord of treats. Over seven years it has kickstarted the culinary careers of the likes of Honest Crust Pizza (now based at Altrincham Market), Green Hut Bakery and Heaton Hops (now with their own shop/taproom in Heaton Chapel). Current traders might include Heart & Graft coffee, All About Pies and sweet treats from Brownie Owls.
There’s a global range to products on sale, too – South Asian chutneys, samosas and pakoras; Mediterranean and Middle Eastern savoury pastries and falafels; French macaroons; New Zealand specialties such as Anzac biscuits and bacon and egg slice; South African biltong and boerwors.
