THE Heaton Moor Producers' Market runs every last Sunday of the Month in Shaw Road. The final market of 2015 is on Sunday, December 6, returning after a winter break on Sunday, March 6. The traders’ list is an ever mutating smorgasbord of treats. Over five years it has kickstarted the culinary careers of the likes of Honest Crust Pizza (now based at Altrincham Market), Green Hut Bakery and Heaton Hops (now with their own shop/taproom in Heaton Chapel). Current traders might include Heart & Graft coffee, All About Pies and sweet treats from Brownie Owls.
There’s a global range to products on sale, too – South Asian chutneys, samosas and pakoras; Mediterranean and Middle Eastern savoury pastries and falafels; French macaroons; New Zealand specialties such as Anzac biscuits and bacon and egg slice; South African biltong and boerwors.
