Rosso’s setting is magnificent – a 126-year-old grade II listed former bank centred on an opulent marble bar. The Italian food is equally rich with a fine Italian wine list to match. Try the whole sea bass with fennel and saffron potatoes or porchetta with pulled pork and cabbage arancini, braised pig’s cheek, apple cider jelly and honey jus. Prices are top-end, but there are always good lunch bargains. Ex-United star Rio Ferdinand has a stake in the place and it’s always a good spot for celeb watching.
