10 Tib Lane Cocktail Bar and Restaurant launches new menu for summer

15 June 2022 by Deanna Thomas

10 Tib Lane is a three-storey restaurant and bar which opened in the former Bock Biere Cafe/Lounge 10/Filthy Cow site at the end of July 2021. Behind its unassuming façade you’ll discover an intimate cocktail bar, and a small plate restaurant with dining spread across two floors. The stripped back and relaxed interior mirrors the venue’s outlook; no fuss or gimmicks, just good quality produce in the company of friendly approachable people.

This highly esteemed cocktail bar and restaurant has since become a place where chefs, bar teams and hospitality insiders like to unwind thanks to its strong focus on classic cocktails, excellent wines and top-quality casual dining experience.

10 Tib Lane’s owners Ben Gretton, Sophie Robson and Joe White have years of experience behind them. Ben launched popular late-night ramen restaurant and bar CBRB in 2018 and has worked within Manchester’s restaurant and bar scene for over 15 years. He’s known for his keen eye for detail.

Sophie’s background includes running music venues across Manchester including Joshua Brooks, Gorilla and Deaf Institute. In 2016, she opened Henry C, Chorlton’s independent neighbourhood cocktail bar, with Joe White. Joe’s background is immersed in making great cocktails focusing on classics and simplicity, and he’s spent the last fifteen years working at some of the best bars in Manchester.

If enjoying a selection of well-crafted small plates with a delicious drink after work is your sort of thing, a visit to 10 Tib Lane will certainly hit the spot. Food is served daily till 10pm and dishes are heavily influenced by each season.

The kitchen team refresh the menu every two to three months, working with the highest quality available produce. Notable local suppliers include Crafty Cheeseman for wonderful artisan cheeses, vegetables and herbs from Cinderwood, Cheshire’s market garden, and freshly made sourdough from city centre-based Holy Grain.

10 Tib Lane’s latest small plates menu showcases the best and most abundant produce around as spring turns into summer. Why not treat yourself to half a dozen Cumbrae Oysters with shallot vinegar and chilli? Other drink-friendly snacks include freshly baked bread with balsamic smoked butter, house nuts and fries with rosemary salt and house sauce.

Each dish has been created with a perfect balance of flavours in mind. Meat-free small plates include a seasonal salad of radicchio, pear, mint, nuts and seeds with whipped mascarpone; confit spiced carrots, aubergine & garlic puree with rose harissa; and chickpea dip with flatbread, crispy chickpeas and cumin salt.

Fish and seafood options include a refreshing dish of sea bass with grapefruit, chicory, orange and red onion, or fresh mussels cooked in smoked garlic and French cider. Meat eaters can enjoy a 12oz sirloin steak pepped up with zhug - the Arabic green chilli sauce, or spiced chicken thigh with charred corn and pineapple salsa.

Desserts range from a classic tiramisu, or cheese with quince and crispbread, to the infinitely more decadent chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream, peanut butter toffee sauce, honeycomb and roasted hazelnuts - a vegan version is also available.

10 Tib Lane has established a growing reputation as the place to go for one of the best Sunday lunches in Manchester. Served from 12pm-7pm, expect a 28-day aged sirloin, house rolled porchetta, roast chicken, vegan wellington, giant yorkies & best the gravy in town. They are also proud to support Eat Well Mcr with an option across all menus called ‘Manchester Meals’ where customers can choose to donate £2 towards the charity which delivers chef-made meals to families living in food poverty across Greater Manchester.

The venue also offers a happy hour every day between 4pm - 6pm where customers can enjoy £6 cocktails and £1 Oysters (perfect for a after work drink). Highlights of the signature cocktails include ‘Eden’, a summer blend of Malfy Rosa Gin, Velvet Falernum, lime and pink grapefruit. If whisky is your poison, you must try the 10 Tib Lane spin on a Whisky + Soda using vegan yoghurt washed Chivas 12 yr with Chivas Mizunara blend whisky, Italicus, Madagascan vanilla, citric acid and soda.

As well as the impressive cocktail list, 10 Tib Lane also serves a highly regarded selection of natural and low intervention wines. Working with reputable suppliers including Waywards Wines and Wrights Wines, they have chosen excellent bottles ‘that won’t scare you off.” Bottled, canned and guest draft beers and cider from Brittany are also available.

The 10 Tib Lane team are keen to push the boundaries of Manchester’s food and drink scene, by creating an experience accessible to everyone. Booking is advised but walk-ins are always welcome.
