With cascading views across the Manchester skyline, an opulent cocktail menu and modern British-inspired dishes, it’s no surprise that 20 stories has scooped up the accolade for Best Manchester Restaurant at the prestigious British Restaurant Awards.
The restaurant in the clouds received the award at the ceremony which was held in London on Tuesday 5 September. It defeated First Street’s WOOD, Adam Reid at The French, Kitten, Erst, Peter Street Kitchen and The Ivy Asia to take home the title.
Daniel Scott, Executive Chef at 20 Stories, said: “It’s an honour to win this award, considering the calibre of restaurants that were alongside us. The team of chefs at 20 Stories work incredibly hard to deliver such a high-quality dining experience for our guests and we couldn’t be prouder to see this be recognised.”
You’ll find plates including the seared pigeon starter on the menu at 20 Stories, alongside mains including piri piri quail, roasted chicken supreme and miso roasted aubergine. 20 Stories also has a specialist list of steaks that are dry aged for either 35 or 42 days, cooked over charcoal and are served with confit tomato, portobello mushroom and pickled shallots.
The win comes after 20 Stories was also named one of the best rooftop bars in Europe and in the world earlier this year. Natasha Davies, senior marketing manager at D&D London, added: “Manchester’s restaurant scene is one of the fiercest in the country, so we are absolutely over the moon to have won this award. The accolade is testament to the hard work and dedication of every one of our employees and we dedicate the trophy to them.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank those who voted for us and of course our valued customer base, many of whom have been with us since we started back in 2018. It’s honestly a pleasure to work at such a landmark venue and the award will take pride of place behind our unique bar.”
