OVERWHELMING demand has led Aumbry’s Mary-Ellen McTague to extend its temporary home, 4244 Edge St, until Christmas.
The 50-cover pop-up at the back of Teacup, entrance via Edge Street, was originally due to shut up shop after five weeks’ occupancy with a refurbished Aumbry due to reopen before Christmas. Now, after a hugely successful first month 4244 will continue until December 23.
There is some fine-tuning from head Chef and patron McTague. The five course taster menu will transform into a winter seasonal menu for November, featuring fresh curds and sheep sorrel, cured hare loin and slow cooked Sika deer.
She said: “We’ve been truly humbled by the welcome we have received in the city centre. 4244 has shown us that serving fine dining in the city centre in a relaxed and personal environment is achievable, we jumped at the chance to extend our stay in order to meet the high demand.”
Taste of manchester is a big fan of 4244, a joint venture hospitality operators Sparklestreet . Here is Ruth Allan’s review for us.
All 4244 Edge St bookings will be taken via the website www.4244.co.uk.
