A HOPPY NEW YEAR AS PLY LAUNCHES ITS OWN BEER MONTH

18 January 2016 by Neil Sowerby

ON Friday January 22 PLY bar is launching Happy New Beer, a month-long in house beer festival, featuring tap takeovers, special guest beers and pizza matching.

The Northern Quarter outfit, Bar of the Year in the 2015 Manchester Food and Drink Awards, has teamed up with some of the industry’s most celebrated breweries for the event, including Alphabet, Atom, Evil Twin, Beavertown, Cloudwater and Tool, all of whom have featured in PLY’s ever changing craft ale rotation.

Each week of Happy New Beer will see a different brewery take over the taps of PLY; some bringing tried and tested favourites and some showcasing new lines. There will also be a few surprises throughout the month including some special pizzas designed to match the special guest beers….all to be announced in the build-up to the festival, which finishes on February 22.

In keeping with the bar’s arts programme, a selection of the guest brewers’ bespoke illustrations, usually seen adorning labels and pump clips, will be used in an exhibition, curated by PLY’s brand and marketing manager Beki Rymsza.
