Piazza Aperol has brought a corner of Italy to Spinningfields so Manchester can embrace the joy of the al fresco life. Ringed with orange trees, Fiat 500s in Aperol’s iconic orange, swing seats and art deco streetlights, Piazza Aperol is hoping to spritz up everyone’s social feed with Insta-worthy moments.
Aperol – the iconic bittersweet orange Italian Aperitivo has turned The Oast House terrace into a stunning Italian square to create the perfect city centre location for an impromptu Aperol Spritz with friends.
Open in the afternoons from 14th – 24th July (excluding Monday 18th July), Piazza Aperol comes to life the moment the working day ends, and the evening begins.
The idea of Piazza Aperol began in London’s original piazza, Covent Garden, as part of the cultural shift where the UK seem to be finally falling in love with Europe’s spontaneous, continental-style, outdoor café culture. Thanks to scores of temporary pavement licenses for pubs and bars now being made permanent, there has been a surge in popularity for summer drinks like Aperitivo.
Transporting city dwellers from the hustle and bustle of Manchester’s urban jungle to the serenity of an authentic Italian square, the Piazza is home to ample pavement café style seating and a double-tier Aperol Spritz Bar with views of the Spinningfields centre.
Loris Contro, Campari Group UK Italian Icons Brand Ambassador, said “The Italian piazza is the beating heart of any town or city, where family and friends come together to mark the end of the working day, and the beginning of the evening to come.
“With this summer set to be more sociable than ever, Piazza Aperol will transport you to Italy with its celebration of the spontaneous and joyful, continental way of life. As an Italian, I know how important embracing these moments is, and what better way to do it than in the sunshine with a perfectly poured Aperol Spritz and good company?”
Danny Leach, General Manager of The Oast House said “Following the success of last year’s Aperol Spritz & Spiaggia – which truly helped visitors make the most of British summer time come rain or shine – we are thrilled to welcome back Aperol with its Piazza-style experience. Our customers love making the most of the longer summer evenings and now with Piazza Aperol, we can spritz up their visit with some Italian fun.”
With Britain the the middle of a heatwave, and temperatures in Manchester set to soar to nearly 30C, a refreshing Aperol Spritz will be handed out to 200 customers on Friday 15th July at 5pm, just in time for Aperitivo Hour– because Aperol is best served with a side of sunshine.
Whilst guests can walk in and enjoy Piazza Aperol for free, those seeking to enjoy an oasis of Italy for the evening at Oast House are advised to book a seating area via their website.
