The Meat House, a new butchers and food emporium specialising in Portuguese and Brazilian meats has opened at Salford Shopping Centre.
There are around 5000 people living in Salford who are of Portuguese and Brazilian descent, so The Meat House was created in a response to the increasing demand for typical ingredients from these regions. As well as offering an impressive range of imported food products which aren’t otherwise available in the UK, The Meat House also boasts a cafe, serving a selection of Portuguese sweet treats along with hot and cold drinks.
The independent, family-owned business serves high quality fresh meat, typical Portuguese desserts, fresh juices, coffee and Brazilian condiments. The popularity of Portuguese food is also on the rise, with numerous Portuguese restaurants popping up across the UK. In Manchester, customers are already flocking to the likes of Canto in Ancoats, Petisco in Sale and Kbom Bar and Kitchen.
Owner, Christian Estevam, of The Meat House, said: “Salford was the perfect place to situate The Meat House due to the large Portuguese community. As well as having a butchers and cafe in store, our speciality is BBQ meats and we’re thrilled to also stock a range of Portuguese and Brazilian food items.”
“Despite having only opened this year, business is growing and we’re so proud to represent the Portuguese and Brazilian community by offering Salford residents the chance to buy authentic Portuguese and Brazilian food products.”
And despite The Meat House being so new, Christian is already looking to expand.
“We’re currently planning to open a second branch of The Meat House in Liverpool, following the popularity in Salford," he says, "so watch this space!”
