A taste of Tuscany at Harvey Nichols

14 October 2009

A taste of Tuscany is coming to Harvey Nichols’ Second Floor Restaurant as it invites acclaimed cook Katie Caldesi to lunch. The well-known Italian cookery expert is joining the eatery as part of its La Dolce Eater celebrations, which is a month-long showcase of all things Italian.

Owner of London’s Caffe Caldesi and Caldesi in Campagna in Bray with her husband Giancarlo, Kate is principal of the only Italian cookery school in central London – La Cucina Caldesi – where she teaches alongside some of the biggest names in Italian cuisine, including Gennaro Contaldo, Ursula Ferrigno and Valentina Harris. Kate has also travelled extensively throughout Italy, where she has searched for recipes and closely guarded family cooking secrets for her latest book.

Along with Giancarlo, Kate co-authored Italian Mama’s Kitchen and Return to Tuscany, the cookbook that accompanied their BBC2 television series chronicling a trip to Tuscany to rediscover Giancarlo’s culinary roots.

The lunch on Tuesday, October 20 at 12.30pm will see guests enjoy a glass of Prosecco and a two-course Italian meal and have the chance to hear about Kate’s culinary experiences and details of her new book The Italian Cookery Course. There will also be a chance to purchase signed copies of the book on the day.

Tickets cost £22.50. To book please contact 0161 828 8898 or e-mail [email protected]
