Affordable luxury at Harvey Nichols restaurant and brasserie this Christmas

16 December 2012

This Christmas there is plenty to keep festive diners and party goers in high spirits in the heart of the city centre at Harvey Nichols iconic Second Floor restaurant and brasserie.

Celebrate the season with views over the Christmas markets in Exchange Square and on Cathedral Street as you explore the delights of the £25 festive menu.

To start choose from mackerel three ways, pheasant terrine or roast pumpkin soup served with burnt cumin yoghurt and home baked bread.

For the main event there is classic turkey brought into the 21st century with sweet potato and swede dauphinoise, parsnips and cranberries, salmon with all things roast (cabbage, beets, clementines) plus an Indian-inspired cauliflower special with risotto and pickled florets.

Choose from Christmas pudding, cranberry mess (a seasonal alternative to Eton Mess of course) or cheese with spiced Eccles cakes and chutney for afters, as well as tucking into the fine house blend teas, coffees and petit fours.

Both the Restaurant and Brasserie offer the opportunity to sample a huge range of fine wines from the inhouse wine store. With one of the finest ranges on offer in the city centre and beyond including exceptional choices from South America and Portugal, its reason enough to book in itself.

For those in search of something a little lighter than a three course meal, we recommend the Christmas Tasting Box (£12). This canny concept is available in the Brasserie and includes smoked salmon and winterslaw rolls, ham hock wontons with a sweet and sour mincemeat dipping sauce as well as turkey sausage, sage and onion stuffing with crispy parsnips, chilli salt and sour cream. A seasonal spectacular in miniature.
