Small plates, cocktails and a buzzing outdoor terrace perfect for the warm weather - Posie has it all.
The independent, drinks-led bar from the team behind 10 Tib Lane, in Spring Gardens, has just unveiled a new outdoor terrace alongside a cracking spring menu of cocktails and light bites, and they do not disappoint.
The new terrace, which feels more European than Mancunian, can seat up to 40 guests, making it one of the most central and largest spots in the city for outdoor drinking and dining, perfectly designed for a long afternoon to slip into a heady late evening affair.
The drinks menu is all about showcasing brighter, fresher flavours with highlights including the Death in Spring, a vibrant mix of strawberry-infused Campari, Crémant de Bourgogne and cherry, and the Peruvian-inspired highball Verde Valley, blending pisco, aquavit, green chartreuse with apple and celery soda.
Other signature cocktails include the lighter, floral profiles like the Three Rose Sour, made with rose-infused Lillet Rosé, before moving into more sweet, dessert-leaning serves such as the Crunchy Nut - whiskey, toasted milk, toasted rice honey and peanut honeycomb, and the Raspberry Ripple, combining gin, Campari and fermented raspberry all infused with raspberry ripple ice cream.
The food menu pairs perfectly with the bevs, with dishes like the seriously moreish hash browns, sour cream and chive with roe being one of our favourites. Go for the sticky honey brioche with Baron Bigod and thyme, too, if you're on the wine.
If you're after something a little more substantial, you can try out the glazed pork belly skewers with chilli sauce and garlic crisps, or mussels tigres with seaweed mayo, alongside cauliflower rarebit on toast with pickled cauliflower and chives.
Sophie Robson from Posie said: "As we head into spring and summer, our new terrace is the perfect setting to enjoy the menu in a different way - whether that’s a quick aperitivo in the sun or a longer evening with friends.
"The new menu really reflects the season too, with lighter, brighter drinks and dishes designed for sharing. We’re excited to welcome guests back to experience it."
Posie’s popular aperitivo and oyster happy hour will continue to run Tuesday to Sunday from 12pm – 4pm, with £8 aperitivo and £1 oysters, making the terrace an ideal spot for after-work drinks, weekend catch-ups or leisurely daytime visits.
All food and drink can be enjoyed across Posie’s full venue, with the new terrace complementing its existing mix of booth seating, bar seats and tables across two levels. The addition of outdoor seating brings a new dimension to the experience, while maintaining the relaxed, knowledgeable service and attention to detail the bar has become known for.
