Albert's Schloss Grand Tour – saying it with flowers

2 May 2018

TRUST Albert’s Schloss to go all floral on us as the summer season is on the horizon. The ebullient Peter Street bar have hired award-winning Northern Quarter florists Frog Flowers to illustrate their Grand Tour theme with an abundance of colourful installations.

With the Grand Tour the self-styled ‘Bohemian pleasure palace’ is presenting its own homage to that aristocratic rite of passage in the 18th and 19th centuries – think of it as a kind of sophisticated gap year for young toffs. Represented at the pictured launch party by a pack of suitably costumed thesps (and a gatecrashing chihuahua courtesy of ToM!)

Much of the Grand Tour en route to Italy, centred on the Alpine countries that Albert’s Schloss takes inspiration from. Hence their intention this summer to “bring the great outdoors inside, curating distant mountain cultures and abundant attractions into beautiful and charming displays of alpine meadow flowers and hanging gardens, characterised by mild winters and hot summers of The Alps.”

So refreshment is in order in the form of a new range of gin and alpine infusions, mountain botanicals, floral wines, spritzes and high altitude cocktails, radlers and summer beers, accompanied by appropriate foodstuffs from the Cook Haus. ToM will slap a thigh to that. And before you know it, Oktoberfest will be upon us.
