Restaurants, pubs and bars with outdoor seating areas have finally been allowed to serve customers again and Manchester’s streets have been alive with friends meeting up again to eat and drink in their favourite venues.
The fact that Albert’s Schloss is an indoor beer hall hasn’t held them back at all and Manchester’s iconic bier palace now has a glorious100-cover, partially heated terrace out front utilising the former Peter Street taxi rank.
Schloss Straße has of course been inspired by Alpine summers and al fresco dining of continental Europe and will open from 12pm - late daily with a summer inspired drink menu, biers and Alpine cook haus delights.
For drinks, Schloss Straße will serve a range of Bavarian tap biers, fresh unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell, plus Schloss’ very own Manchester Rein, highballs, spritz and Sommer cocktails, including Strawberry Spritz, Pear Old Fashioned, Chinotto White Negroni and Alpina Colada.
Gülden Hour boozing will take place every Monday - Friday 4-7pm, with highballs and spritz for £5, Kozel for £4 and bottles of prosecco for only £20.
The cook haus will offer Alpine inspired small plates including meatballs and cambozola, garlic bread and hummus and flatbread, to classics including fish fritz, pan-fried Schnitzel. The Cook Haus will also be serving up a rotating sandwich of the week and a Cook Haus special and a selection of classic burgers and wursts.
As night falls, Schloss Straße is illuminated by twinkling fairy lights, complete with live entertainment, DJs and promenaders providing the banter.Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, some of Manchester’s finest DJ’s will be on the Straße decks, including Jonjo Williams, Hattie Pearson and DJ Paulette.
This weekend will see the return of Schloss’s infamous Sunday Service with a selection of Sunday roasts available throughout the day and DJ Paulette DJ’ing throughout the afternoon.
Schloss Straße also has plans in the pipeline for further developments including a new summer menu.
Bookings for drinks are available all day from 12-9:45pm and food bookings available from 12-9:15pm. Schloss Straße bookings are open until Sunday 16th May after which venues will (hopefully) be allowed to re-open fully. From May 17th, the outdoor tables will operate on a first come first served basis.
