Manchester’s beloved Bavarian bier palace is reopening this week with the launch of a new glittering summer season. GüldenTage, or ‘golden days’, will begin on 17th May with the return of Seven Days of Showtime.
Albert’s Schloss’s Cook Haus dining, Alpine cocktails, biers and roaring fires (which we’ll need with the summer we’re having so far) are all back and they’ve also got a spectacular Seven Day entertainment line-up planned.
The first thing visitors will notice is the spectacular new door installation – this time with a fully irrigated sustainable living plant wall, in collaboration with I Want Plants. The Alberts Schloss flowering wall consists of 768 summer plants with a fully automated irrigation system. Mission Mars is looking to become more sustainable and reduce its carbon and nitrogen dioxide footprint, as well as boosting biodiversity but not compromising on design.
Schloss’s acclaimed Seven Days of Showtime will kick-start the celebrations from 17th May with a week-long re-launch party to mark the return of indoor hospitality and welcome guests back to the bier palace.
There’s no such things as Monday blues this week; there’ll be live sets from DJ Paulette from 12pm with the Schloss Haus band and Hypnojive taking to the stage from 5pm to take guests through to the evening before passing the baton to DJ Jonjo Williams (Bad Fun, Maribou State Live) to keep the party going through to the early hours.
Over the rest of the week, Albert’s Schloss will hosts sets from top acts including - Merge the Birds, Hypnojive, Yemi and the Soul Carousel, DJ Paulette, Albert's Haus Band, DJ Jonjo Williams, James Bradshaw ft. The Slam Band and many more.
Availability for all shows is limited due to social distancing, booking is recommended but space is saved for walk-ins.
The Seven Days of Showtime will bring all the usual shenanigans, with duelling free-style pianos, kabaret, haus-bands and the return of Schloss’s favourite day of the week, Sunday Service.
Alongside entertainment, the Albert’s Schloss Cook Haus have made a number of exciting new menu additions including garlic bread topped with melting brie, flaming Baked Alaska, the first ever Alpine inspired Schloss fondue and a three-course Sunday roast.
For drinks, the GüldenTage season will be delivering a new and exciting cocktail menu including elevated serve cocktails; Albert's Manhattan, Albert's Highball and Albert's 75.
There will also be rotational biers on tap, starting with Northern Monk Eternal IPA and Shindigger Mango Unchained. Gülden Hour boozing, the new after work drinking offer, is available weeknights from 4-7pm including Highballs & Spritz, bottles of prosecco & Kozel.
