To celebrate its arrival in Manchester, Allpress has teamed up with Oatly to create an espresso flavoured soft serve ice cream – and you can grab one for free next week.
500 of them will be available to those first through the doors from 11am - 2pm at their new HQ at NOMA on Thursday 7 September.
The coffee brand has had a strong presence in the city’s coffee scene for some time, as you’ll find Allpress beans in Ancoats staples Trove, Campanio, and Erst; as well as in Carhartt and Patagonia. The new site at NOMA will be their first bricks and mortar coffee hub outside of their 2 London Allpress cafes.
The space will be the Northern HQ for the brand and will house a café that offers a holistic coffee experience and a seasonal menu incorporating locally sourced ingredients. There will also be a barista training hub and coffee machinery workshop in their 2,500 sq ft space on the ground floor of the Redfern building - right around the corner from live music and event space New Century, which re-opened just last year.
The concept, designed by Deidra Hodgson, has been put together to encourage and inspire creativity from locals. Allpress has already forged ahead with creative partnerships, bringing ceramicist Frida Cooper on-board to create their mugs, and local photographer Shaun Peckham to shoot their first Manchester campaign.

With a customer base of over 60 businesses across the north we’re excited to have a base in Manchester that can support them, our team, allow for training in the region, and become a space where anyone can come and experience Allpress. We’re really looking forward to being part of such an exciting, creative city,” said Tom Hobday, northern UK manager at Allpress Espresso.
Locals can head down to the opening on Thursday 7 September from 8am to grab a coffee, explore the space, and meet the team. The free Allpress X Oatly soft serve will be available from 11am.
The brand continues their celebration into the opening weeks with a series of collaborative free events including a YOUTH coffee morning and a One Foot Forward run club will be enjoyed by city dwellers and Allpress neighbours alike. All events will be posted on the Allpress Instagram account.
Allpress will be open Wednesday to Saturday from 8am - 5pm located on the first floor of the Redfern Building at NOMA and is a 4 minute walk from Victoria Station, and across the road from Shudehill bus station.
