ANOTHER GOOD THING: Local non-profit Eat Well MCR takes over Pollard Yard

5 July 2024 by Rhiannon Ingle

Keep next Saturday free as Pollard Yard, the vibrant creative hub just a short walk from Ancoats, is set to be taken over by Eat Well MCR's latest event, Another Good Thing.

This special event promises a festive atmosphere with pop-up food traders, live DJ sets from local legends Metrodome and Industry Plant from Steam Radio, and an array of drinks, all aimed at celebrating local entrepreneurship and supporting the charitable aims of the local non-profit.

Another Good Thing will see the businesses at Pollard Yard, which is known for its unique maze of shipping containers that house a diverse group of entrepreneurs and startups, showcase their products and services, ranging from bakeries and beauticians to potteries and print shops.

Attendees can also look forward to checking out two standout local food vendors as Good Things Coffee House will be on-site offering their delicious toasties and baked goods, while Scicilian chef Marleyo will delight attendees with authentic sandwiches, salads, parmigiana, and more traditional dishes.

And to soundtrack the event, which finishes at 8pm, DJs will be spinning tracks throughout the day, ensuring the energy remains high. For those who enjoy a good brew or cocktail, a variety of coffee, cocktails, beers, and other beverages will be available all day and evening.

Fundraising raffle tickets will be available on the day and in the run up to the event priced at just £2 with prizes being donated from Pollard Yard businesses.

So, head down to Pollard Yard next Saturday (13th July) to enjoy great food, music, and company, and support both local businesses and a noble cause.

Eat Well MCR is dedicated to providing meals to those in need across Greater Manchester, and a portion of the event’s proceeds will support their vital work.
