Asha’s to reopen this summer as part of new luxury Forty-Seven Hotel

18 May 2022 by Deanna Thomas

‘Forty-Seven’, a new luxury hotel from Kro Hospitality, has announced it is to open within the Grade-II listed Lancashire House at 47 Peter Street in Summer 2022. Located on one of Manchester city centre’s most vibrant streets, the hotel promises to be the perfect place to stay in the heart of the city.

The new hotel will boast 32 high-end bedroom spaces, including a range of duplex and signature suites - with bold designs which complement the heritage and original features of the former shipping warehouse.

‘Forty-Seven’ will also be home to The Peterman, a bar inspired by the illustrious history of the Peterloo Massacre and the Suffragettes. Guests and visitors are invited to relax in this city centre hideaway for afternoons with friends, sipping cocktails late into the night.

Manchester’s much-loved Asha’s Indian restaurant is also set to re-open this summer as part of Forty Seven’s uniquely elevated dining experience. Asha’s champions authentic Indian food and culinary innovation in thirteen opulent restaurants across some of the world’s most iconic cities. Among a number of highly reputable accolades, Asha’s Manchester is ‘Michelin Guide Listed’, included in ‘The Times Top 14 Restaurants in the UK’ and won the ‘British Curry Awards - Best Restaurant outside London 2019’.

The new hotel is to be led by General Manager, Ryan Thompson, who has a prestigious background including Edwardian Hotels Manchester, Cottons Hotel and Spa in Cheshire and most recently, Hotel Gotham on King Street. Thompson said that the focus in his new role will be to “deliver intelligent luxury for those who appreciate both statement and style while they eat, sleep, drink and enjoy time in the heart of the city”.

Joining Ryan at ‘Forty-Seven’ as Sales Manager is Amy Brown, who has previously worked in sales at Manchester Victoria and Albert Hotel by Marriott. “I’m thrilled to be working with Ryan again,” said Amy. “I’m looking forward to our new hospitality venture and feel that Peter Street is the perfect home for the hotel.”

Kro Hospitality’s other city centre venue, Velvet Hotel, Bar and Brasserie, is currently undergoing an extension to create an additional 18 bedrooms that will offer elegant luxury.

Kim Eivind Krohn, owner of KRO Hospitality, said: “We’re delighted to announce the latest update on our recent venture to create a new, exciting and extravagant hotel in the heart of Manchester’s vibrant Peter Street, which is home to popular venues including our very own Asha’s Restaurant, which will be reopening in our new hotel, ‘Forty-Seven’”.
