Bank Holiday Seafood And Wine Festival at Hearth Of The Ram

10 May 2013

THE reality doesn’t always match up to Ramsbottom’s reputation as a foodie capital. For every multi-award-winning Ramsons, MFDF Dining Pub of the Year and ground-breaking Chocolate Cafe (currently celebrating its fifth birthday) there’s a wealth of underwhelming grub options about.

No one ever went to the Good Samaritan at the bottom of Peel Brow for the food. The ale, perhaps, the company. Now with its transformation into the Hearth Of The Ram that’s all changed.

In little over a year new owners Euan and Dena Watkins have created a fine dining destination maybe giving Ramsons a run for its money. Hiring Abdulla (Naz) Naseem, once the driving force in that rival kitchen, has been Hearth’s masterstroke.

Check out its and his progress at the upcoming Bank Holiday Seafood And Wine Festival from Fri May 24 to Mon May 27.

The matching wines are still to be arranged, but the menu with starters hovering under the £10 mark and mains in the mid-teens looks a fishy treat, The big deals really plates to share: Half Poached Scottish Lobster, Langoustines, Razor Clams, Tiger Prawns, Cornish King Crab Legs (£35.95 chilled, £39.95 warm) or Roast Whole Seabass, King Crab Leg, Triple Cooked Chips, Chorizo (£34.95).
