If you have an affinity for a proper good pint then you may be interested in checking out the Historic Brew Con coming to Manchester later this year (6th - 7th August).
The two-day conference aims to bring together beer and brewing historians, writers, brewers and enthusiasts from across the world to share knowledge and experience. Any history buffs out there will be treated to fascinating covering all eras from Prehistory to Prohibition set in one of the world's greatest beer cities with its own history of brewing going back to the Industrial Revolution and beyond.
The event will be taking place right in the heart of the original industrial centre of the city, nestled cosily between Angel Meadows and Red Bank, next door to Blackjack Brewery on Irk Street - the Fairfield Social Club.
With two separate halls and a pretty heft beer garden as well as their own on-site conference bar that will be stocked with heritage and historic beers to match the conference itself - this sure is shaping up to be a good one.
