The Big Indie Wine Fest celebrates its 5th birthday in style at Manchester's Food and Drink Festival this month. The gothic Great Hall in Manchesters Town Hall, forms a centre piece for this years event where many exclusive wines from around the globe will be presented by the regions finest independent wine merchants. Three sessions combine to offer a cornucopia of boutique wines to buy and taste - and visitors have the chance to chat to the sellers, with their knowledge and first hand experience too.
Siobhan Hanley, Festival Director comments: This is a wine event for enthusiasts, connoisseurs and novices alike. The Great Hall is one of Manchester's most impressive venues and worth a visit in its own right. This combined with the biggest range of wine merchants weve ever had makes for our best Big Indie Wine Fest yet.
Merchants attending include: Tour de Belfort, serving Organic hand harvested wines from a family vineyard in South West France; T. Wrights Wine, long established wine merchants based in Horwich, showcasing classic Bordeaux and Burgundy wines, right through to ever popular Spanish Rioja; Pacta Connect serving imported, medal-winning and artisan Croatian wines; Dusty Road Wines, a Cheshire based, independent wine company will be serving hand-picked beautiful French wines, direct from those hard to find growers; Spirited Wines and Turton Wines, a Bolton wine merchant and mecca for those wanting to try something a bit different like wines from Georgia, Slovenia and Lebanon.
