DOGS love parks for obvious reasons. So a new pooch-friendly event on the cusp of Angel Meadows promises utter bliss. For their owners, too, if they’re fond of casual Asian cuisine.
This Saturday (August 10) street food operators Bite launch a new monthly residency at MeadowSide, an exciting new apartment development next to the city centre’s largest green space. First up is doggy special Bite + Bark.
Bite has teamed up with Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home and invites the dogs of Manchester to enter their mini-dog-show where they can compete in such categories as ‘The Waggiest Tail, Best Paw Shaker’ and ‘Gorgeous Golden Oldie’ with the winners of each category getting taBite + Bark rosette and a bottle of Pawsecco. Even for the losers there’ll be lots of free doggie treats.
Their owners will not be forgotten either, though they will have to pay for the street food on offer. Spicy Jack Deli will be dishing up their Tex-Mex-style burritos, nachos and enchiladas; Bhaji Box seriously good samosas; Mio Pizza will be bringing along their wood-fired oven for all the pizza lovers and I Am Thai Kitchen have a menu of tasty home-made Thai food. Our tip is Afro-Brit specialist BON Street Food’s fiery chicken wings and shawarma (below)
Hair of the dog? Look no further than Beatnikz Republic, who will be on hand with beers and soft drinks throughout the day.
There will be plenty of space to sit down and chill, and even some cover if it rains. For more information visit this link.
There is a suggested minimum donation of £1 to MCDH for each entry into the competition.
