A NOD to the New York vibe? Yes, it has to be new ‘high-end drinking and dining concept’ screeching into Manchester. In truth, BLVD (Boulevard) Manchester doesn’t sound a lot different to the ill-fated Neighbourhood (above), whose The Avenue, Spinningfields site it will occupy from November onwards.
It ticks all the all-day boxes, with a globally-influenced menu served 12pm - 10pm, culminating in entertainment-led evenings against a backdrop inspired by the Big Apple’s Meatpacking District. So you’ll get touches of cosmopolitan graffiti, alongside plush furnishings, creating a ‘super-luxe setting for cocktail-seekers and scenesters’.
It’s the brainchild of Aaron Mellor, canny CEO of Tokyo Industries, which operates over 30 bars across the North, with brands including Brew Haus, Bier Keller and Tokyo plus FAC 251 in Princess Street.
He told us: “BLVD Manchester will bring to the city a captivating and modern destination, focusing on premium service. We wanted to create a super-slick, all-day venue, reminiscent of those found in New York and Los Angeles, artfully blending together a luxe dining room and chic cocktail lounge to create a superior experience.
“BLVD Manchester will combine modern day dining, superior drinks and dynamic late-night entertainment when it launches in November 2019 - a destination for any time of day.”
Former occupant Neighbourhood had its licence revoked in April in response to a violent incident.
