IMMERSIVE experiences. No, we don’t mean bath-time or baptism. We’re suggesting you plunge into the Manchester Food and Drink Festival event that promises ’80 contestants, six courses, one survivor’.
Oh, and, of course there’s a guarantee of some excellent food from Cottonopolis head chef Joe Grant when the NQ bar launches Battle Royale, its most adventurous Secret Supper Club yet – in the Albert Square Festival Hub’s new Dining Dome.
For two spectacular nights (Sept 27 and 28, 7.30pm) at the start of the 12-day Festival the Dome will be transformed by the Visual Architects into a specially curated dining production of Battle Royale, based around the 2000 Japanese cult, seen as a precursor to Hunger Games.
Released in 2000 it tells the story of 42 ninth grade students forced to fight to the death by the Japanese government under the ‘Battle Royale’ act.
It’s the latest in series of acclaimed Secret Supper Clubs from Cottonopolis on Newton Street, itself shortlisted for Bar of the Year in this year’s Manchester Food and Drink Awards.
This latest event, hosted by Sensei Kitano offers six courses after aa glass of Prosecco on arrival. Tickets cost £65, bookable here.
