Book now for 'Dine with Da Vinci' – exclusive art matched supper club

8 April 2019

MANCHESTER Art Gallery is hosting a unique series of four art-meets-food supper clubs in collaboration with Manchester Food and Drink Festival

Each exclusive event will see the city’s best chefs create a one-off, immersive dining experience, themed around a different exhibition of a great artist. The aim is to delight all the senses and offer real insight into their life, their times and, of course, the food of thsoe times.

The first event in the season is Dine with Da Vinci – an authentic Italian supper club created by local specialists Salvi’s on Saturday, April 27. Guests will be greeted with a glass of Italian fizz, after which the Gallery’s expert curators will treat them to a private tour of the Leonardo Da Vinci: A Life In Drawing exhibition.

The show closes on Monday, May 6 and all remaining tours have sold out, so this is a chance to enjoy an exclusive insight into 12 of Da Vinci’s iconic drawings before the works are returned to the Royal Collection.

At the heart of Dine With Da Vinci is an authentic Italian long-table banquet created by Salvi’s owner Maurizio Cecco and inspired by the produce and recipes of Da Vinci’s own era 500 years ago. The meal will be accompanied by live Italian music in the soaring, historic Gallery 4 and 5.

Salvi’s was founded in 2013 by husband and wife team, Maurizio (a native of Naples) and Claire Cecco to showcase the food of Southern Italy.

MFDF 2019, the 22nd festival, takes place from September 26-October 7 with a new Festival Hub in Cathedral Gardens. Further details here
