DREAM team’s a bit of a cliche but a one-off pop-up collab between Jackie (Hungry Gecko) Kearney and Charlotte (Bakeorama) O’Toole does set the plant-based pulse (sic) racing.
It’s called Vegan Soul Food and will take place at Federal Cafe Bar's new location on Deansgate on Friday, September 27. Expect savoury small plates and playful cakes from two of street food’s most creative cooks.
The menu will feature dishes from Jackie's new book, Vegan Christmas Feasts – sticky and smoky Guinness-glazed BBQ Mock Ribs (above) and warm and spicy aubergine jeow salad, as well as new creations especially for this menu such as crispy fried mock chickn 'n' truffled polenta fries with Southern style gravy, porcini cobbler pots and chimichurri tacos.
Diners will be offered a choice of two starters, followed by small plate menu from which to choose two, three, four (or more) dishes. To end the meal, there will be an epic dessert finale courtesy of Bakeorama. Federal will serve up some acclaimed cocktails, too.
The final ticket cost will be £20, £25 or £28 (or more) depending on diners’ menu selections. Tickets for this event are charged as £10 booking deposit (+ Eventbrite fee). Cash or card payments will be accepted on the night. Book via this link.
