WINE and good bread – what more do you need for a feast? Imaginative toppings maybe matched with appropriate bottles. That’s the recipe on offer when award-winning Altrincham and Lake District based bakers Lovingly Artisan team up with Hanging Ditch bar and vinoteca on Thursday, May 10.
During the Last Supper guests will be able to savour five specially selected wines paired with a selection of freshly baked artisan breads and toppings all curated by the Ditch’s Richard Long and Lovingly’s Aidan Monks.
This simple supper formats get under way at 7pm, with sourdough baguette, smoked salt followed by spiced apple sourdough and camembert served with an oaked Chardonnay.
Next up tuck into Lovingly Artisan’s five grain baguette, pate, cornichons and flat leaf parsley served with a light Pinot Noir. nSavour delicious Kalamata olive sourdough with tapenade, sundried tomatoes, mozzarella pearls and basil served with Domaine Jeanne Prestige Rouge.
To finish it’s walnut sourdough, whipped Roquefort, fig relish and grated walnut, served with a Tawny Port.
