Bunny throws a ‘one million wings’ party as Mojo host a chilli chicken challenge

26 September 2019

WHAT is it about wings? Bunny Jackson’s on First Street is throwing a party to celebrate selling a million of them during its brief tenure on First Street. From 5pm on Friday, September 27, there are free wings for everyone and a beer pong competition on the night where the winning team wins free wings for life. That’s all not long after  Manchester’s first ever Wing Fest packed in the finger-licking crowds just around the corner.

Bunny’s, of course, hosts a notorious Hot Wings Challenge with even the ice cold pint of milk included in the tenner package isn’t guaranteed to quell the pain.

Now it’s the turn of veteran bar Mojo to launch its own Hot Ones Wing Challenge on Tuesday, October 15. Based on the cult YouTube show Hot Ones, the Bridge Street cocktail venue has teamed up with The Chilli-Shop for you to test your reactions to eating the spiciest wings just like your favourite celebs. Will you achieve enlightenment like Russell Brand, get rocked like Tenacious D, or hallucinate like Terry Crews? This is your chance to find out! (Mojo’s words – ToM’s already feeling queasy).

The challenge will see punters tackle either 10 chicken wings or 10 vegan/gf cauli wings, coated with a progressively fierier selection of 10 hot sauces featured across the eight seasons of the hit show.

Those that think they can handle the heat are dared to experience first-hand what it's like to have a flame-thrower shoved in your mouth with the feared Da Bomb, and then face the famously soul-crushing 3.3 million Scoville Heat Units (that’s 1320 times hotter than a jalapeño) of The Last Dab.

To cool you off  Mojo recommends a White Russian, BMW, or Pina Colada. We might just skip the wings and head straight for the scoops.

Mojo, 59A Bridge St, Manchester M3 3BQ. To book your spot email [email protected], stating either Chicken Wings or Cauli Wings.

Bunny Jackson’s, 1 Jack Rosenthal St, Manchester M15 4RA.
