Buy local! Ancoats Food Assembly up and running

31 August 2017 by Neil Sowerby

NCOATS Food Assembly is finally on-stream, filling a genuine gap in this up and coming foodie quarter par excellence – a weekly source of quality fresh produce. From September 1 you can order produce from this online Farmer’s Market that encourages folk to buy local.

Collect your order (and meet some of the passionate producers) at the Seven Bro7hers Beerhouse at 33 Blossom Street M4 5AF overlooking Cutting Room Square at the launch/first collection night between 5pm oand 7pm on Thursday, September 7.

You will certainly be saving on food miles. Seven miles is the average distance away for the producers – Dormouse Chocolates; Groobarbs Wild Farm and Abbey Leys Farm, both High Legh near Knutsford; Little Heath Farm, Dunham Massey; Pextenement Cheese Co, Todmorden; Moveable Feasts, Los Antojitos hot sauces and salsas, both Chorlton; Hello Pure, Bowdon; The Pasta Factory, Shudehill; Manchester Smoke House, Cheetham Hill.

“Ancoats is going to really boom in the next couple of years,” says organiser Helen Taylor (pictured below). “We can reach out to a lot of people living around there and across in the Northern Quarter. Even folk working in the city centre buying food on the way home.”

Well worth signing up now here
