Celebrate Social Sunday at Hispi in Aid of Hospitality Action

28 June 2018

ON Sunday July 1 Gary Usher and the team at Didsbury bistro Hispi will be celebrating Social Sunday, in conjunction with Hospitality Action and The Social Company, to raise funds to support those who have worked in the hospitality industry and find themselves in crisis.

For three years, celeb chef Jason Atherton has run his Social Sunday event every July to raise funds for the charity with the aim to unite the UK’s restaurant community to help.

The concept is simple: Jason, a patron and trustee of Hospitality in Action, opens all of his London restaurants for a Sunday lunch service, with all proceeds going directly to the charity. This year, the concept is going nationwide, with chefs and restaurateurs across the country supporting it.

Recently listed in the top 50 UK restaurants, Hispi will be hosting a ‘Social Sunday Supper’ with a special five course menu, where the ticket covers the cost of the menu and drinks are payable on the night, with all profits going to this important charity.

The evening will start at 7pm with guests seated on communal tables, in keeping with the social aspect of the evening with a £25 optional drinks flight also available.

The menu will feature asparagus, cured Goosnargh duck, hazelnut cream; halibut, romaine lettuce, parsley, lemon and elderflower sauce; charred bavette steak, dill pickled green tomato, maitake and white cabbage; blood nectarine, mint and almond fool; strawberry, white chocolate and brown butter fudge.

Hispi, 1C School Lane, Manchester M20 6RD. Tel: 0161 445 3996. Tickets cost £42 a head. To book ring Ashley on 0800 160 1811 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, email [email protected] or book online here
