Charity cheers! Hornbeam brew two fundraising ales for Forever Manchester

29 October 2014

LOCAL Charity Forever Manchester has launched two beers in collaboration with Denton microbrewery Hornbeam to help raise money for communities across Greater Manchester. The ales pay homage to Manchester as hive of industry and weather capital.

First on the shelf is Forever Manchester ‘B’ – a unique 4.0 ABV Honey Beer to tie in with the Manchester bee symbol. Crafted with a mind to keep hints of summer alive with honey scents and sweetness brewed with a smooth bitterness, the brew is available in bottle and in cask.

Sitting alongside the bitter in contrast is Forever Cloudy, a premium lime lager with citrus bursts and a smooth malty finish. The lager is available in 500ml bottles and has a 5.4 ABV. Both Forevers are already widely available across Greater Manchester.

Both beers have been brewed at the independent Hornbeam Brewery, who are kindly donating 35p from every bottle/pint sold. Kevin Rothwell from the brewery comments: “We our proud of our Denton heritage and Forever Manchester was a perfect fit for us to put something back into our local neighbourhoods. We have enjoyed crafting these brews with a real Manchester theme to each.”

Nick Massey, chief executive of Forever Manchester added: “ Hornbeam Brewery is exactly the kind of business we love to work with. Independent local people building a business doing something they love, and this really comes across in these fantastic products. We’d love to see them on sale far and wide across the ten boroughs where the money raised will be invested back into local community projects and initiatives.

“I would also like to thank Ambassador Dave Foran who has owned various pubs over the last 17 years and always dreamed of creating his own beer. Combined with his love and passion for Forever Manchester this has now become a reality.”

Forever Manchester is the Community Foundation for Greater Manchester and raises money to support grass-root community groups and initiatives across the region.

Hornbeam was established in 2007. Check out its range of beers at this link.
