Christmas markets open next week

10 November 2009

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Or so the song goes. Manchester City Council has announced the Christmas markets will be open on Wednesday, November 18. Glühwein for everyone!

With even more stalls this year, the markets are growing and spreading every year.

New for this year is the addition of arts and crafts stalls outside the Triangle, from Thursday to Sunday every week.

Albert Square will be the usual Alpine scene with a glühwein and German beer tent, bratwurst, paella, hog roast, crepes and the usual faves.

With dining stalls down Brazennose Street, and market stalls right across St Ann’s Square, Exchange Square, New Cathedral Street and Piccadilly, the markets are slowly but surely taking over the whole city.

There will also be a Food Lovers’ Market at Piccadilly Gardens on December 11 and 12, and a Christmas Foods Market from December 17-19.

Manchester Christmas Markets: November 18 - December 21.
