25 May 2016 by Neil Sowerby

THE Church Inn, Mobberley has been named National Pub of the Year in the Pub and Bar Awards 2016.

The popular village inn was presented with the prize by Observer food critic Jay Rayner at an awards ceremony at BAFTA London. 94 regional finalists gathered to find 12 regional winners. The Church won best in the North West and then best overall in these prestigious trade awards.

It’s on a roll. In last year’s Eat, Drink, Sleep Awards it pipped its sister pub in Mobberley to Best Dining Pub Award for South Manchester.
