Opening this Thursday (25 April), Cibo restaurant and bar is a new Venetian-influenced venture in Didsbury serving rustic, cicchetti-style food (the Italian equivalent of tapas). Head chef is Martin Cordwell, who was at the helm at Stock for five years. Given the respected chef's background, expect a menu that includes slow braised ox cheek with black peppercorns, monkfish with tomato and black olives, halibut with prosecco and asparagus, and ravioli neri as well as a whole section devoted to the art of the meatball. A range of fine Italian wines are promised by the glass alongside creative cocktails which may include smoked infusions and candy floss floats.
