CitySuites’ Embankment Kitchen launches a special festive menu

1 November 2021 by Sponsored Feature

Want to to mark the Yuletide in style? Embankment Kitchen, the vibrant brasserie and bar at celeb haunt aparthotel CitySuites on Chapel Street, Manchester, has launched a special three course Festive Menu.

Embankment Kitchens’ Head Chef is Marika Healey, a former MasterChef: The Professionals contestant who has created a modern menu using the freshest ingredients from carefully selected local suppliers.

Combining traditional glamour with a modern but inviting atmosphere, Embankment Kitchen can cater for private dinners and corporate events in an intimate setting for up to 12 guests. For larger celebrations, the whole 80-seater restaurant can be made available for private hire between Sunday – Wednesday evenings.

The new Festive set menu features a collection of traditional dishes with contemporary touches with some brasserie classics for diners who want something a little different this year.

Seasonal starters include honey roast parsnip and chestnut soup with carrot crisp; or the plant-based salt-baked golden beetroot carpaccio with candied walnuts, vegan cheese crumble, and mustard, orange marjoram dressing.

Try chicken liver and cognac parfait encased in a whipped clementine and black pepper butter with pumpkin seed rye bread toast and grape chutney; tempura king prawns, cranberry, and chilli jam; or how about pigs in blankets coated in a honey bourbon and wholegrain mustard sauce.

Festive mains include a classic Christmas dinner in its finest form with all the trimmings (and no washing up!) Tuck into roast Cheshire turkey with sage and candied orange peel stuffing, served with goose fat and paprika roast potatoes, honey glazed parsnips and carrots, pigs in blankets, sprouts in a pancetta and chestnut butter and green beans, all topped with a delicious red wine and cranberry jus.

If you’d prefer to be less of a traditionalist, there’s an 8oz 28-day aged sirloin steak on the menu with potato fondant, burnt shallot pureé, buttered green beans, honey glazed carrots and truffle jus. Or guests can choose pan-roasted seabass fillets with braised fennel, saffron-infused dauphinoise potatoes, slow roast cherry tomatoes, and a lemon, chive and prosecco cream sauce.

Prefer a meat-free option? There's a roast butternut squash, spinach and vegan cheese Wellington with orange and paprika roast potatoes, roast parsnips and carrots, butternut squash pureé, sprouts and chestnuts, topped off with a generous drizzle of vegan gravy.

And, as it wouldn’t be Christmas if you’re not completely stuffed, finish off with some traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce. If you like something a bit fruitier, there’s a red wine and vanilla poached pear with chocolate sauce and Chantilly cream, or a zingy lemon tart with raspberry coulis and macerated raspberries.

Chocolate lovers might want to give the chocolate and clementine torte a try, or for something lighter and more refreshing, there's a lemon sorbet with fruit compote, vanilla and red wine poached pear.

Bookings are now open for Christmas celebrations and private hires throughout November and December. The three-course menu is available at £35 per person, and there’s the option to add a glass of Champagne on arrival for £8.
