MEET the Bombay Minx, a wicked collaboration between The Alchemist bars and Star of Bombay gin both hope will wow this year’s Cocktails In The City, back after 2015’s sell-out success but in a new, bigger venue, Old Granada Studios.
This two-night celebration (Thur May 19 and Fri May 20) of all things mixological brings together 24 of Manchester’s finest cocktail exponents under one roof. Each bar will be working alongside a different premium spirit brand, to form the base of their signature cocktails which will be available to taste and to buy. Tickets for the event are £12 and include one cocktail, main stage demos and sampling. Additional cocktails are priced at £6.50 each. Chuck in music led by DJ Will Tramp, Junk Yard crazy golf and the ‘Santa Teresa’ urban beach area with mechanical surfboard, deckchairs and sand courtesy of HULA tiki and summer’s come early. There’s also a garden area and Tattu’s multi-sensory parlours to chill in.
The competing bars will be taking it more seriously as they vie to scoop 'Best Bar', 'Best Cocktail' and 'Best Stand’ (2015 winners in each category were respectively Mr Coopers, Cane and Grain and Elixir).
Food is being organised by B.EAT Street – the likes of Bart’s Dog Kart, Chaat Cart and Poffertjes Kings on Thursday and Big Grillie Style, Bali Beach Hut and Angel Falls on Friday.
