Local residents, businesses and community groups are enjoying a pioneering culinary network that has been cooked up in Chorlton. Cracking Good Food aims to entice people into the kitchen by offering a range of workshops and sessions, which are designed to help develop cookery skills and expand recipe repertoires. Following its launch at Chorltonâs Big Green Festival in March, the Cracking Good Food team has run sessions for Chorlton Good Neighbours pensioners group, fed pasta to passers-by outside Hickson & Blackâs Deli and helped to wrap up Chorlton Arts Festival with a big street feast.
Cracking Good Food co-ordinator Adele Jordan and Jessica Symons, of local social enterprise Krata, have announced a summer series of cookery workshops aimed at both individuals and groups of friends. The project has received funding from the National Lotteryâs Local Food Fund, The Co-operative Membership and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, which means each three-hour long workshop costs just £15 per person (£10 concessions). Classes take place at Chorlton High School, on Nell Lane, on Tuesdays from 6pm-9pm and Saturdays at St Ninianâs, on Wilbraham Road, from 11am-2pm
