Manchester's central business district, Spinningfields flashes more of its pulling power tomorrow with the opening of Mumma Schnitzel.
New to Manchester, the award-winning street food trader will take up residency next to The Long Bar, to serve up hot schnitzel from the back of their Citroën van.
The menu includes a number of different takes on schnitzel including Mumma's ultimate chicken burger, Halloumi burger or Chicken / Halloumi schnitzel, Lil Mumma's (popcorn style chicken/ Halloumi bites) or Schnitz & Tings (a low carb option: schnitzel, lettuce, avocado, tomato, Mumma's dressing).
Family business
Matt Walsh and Hollie Scrancher, the couple behind Mumma Schnitzel, set up the business after being inspired by a trip to Thailand. A year of fine tuning later and they've created what's they hope is the ultimate gourmet chicken burger.
Hollie Scrancher said; The street food scene in Manchester is starting to bubble, people are beginning to enjoy and get excited about this new way of dining. Restaurant quality food can be enjoyed quickly and inexpensively. London's street food scene is head and shoulders above anywhere else in the UK. Manchester is set to follow so we thought we'd make the move while it's still burgeoning!"
Mumma Schnitzel will be open from 12pm Monday to Saturday, with closing times due to vary. They will also offer a text and takeaway service, which we particularly like the sound of.
